TICH also aligns to SDG 5 of Gender Equality by increasing gender inclusion in leadership.
Right from inception in 2018, TICH targeted 20 youth groups in Nairobi slums of Kawangware and Kibera and Kisumu Nyando and Nyakach Sub-Counties.
TICH trained 10 youth leaders representing 10 households, in essence of involving women in leadership roles within leafy vegetable and poultry keeping value chains, to increase sustainable household income.
7/10 targeted households report thriving businesses with an average of 60% monthly profits as opposed to 10% profits previously gained in 2017.
The households are also used as models/training aids to increase gender inclusion for sustainable increase in household income.
