TICH aligns to SDG 8 of Decent Work and Economic Growth by increasing employability and entrepreneurship skills among 100 marginalized job seeking youth of Nairobi slums of Kawangware and Kibera, Kisumu-Nyando and Nyakach Sub-counties through trainings on Employability Skills.
The project began in 2018 and so far has physically and virtually trained 70 youth out of which, 20 have gotten job placements in corporates, 30 joined the TICH Entrepreneurship Program and are now running own businesses mainly in Fashion and Design, Electronics, Plumbing, Makeup and Nail Art, Catering and Event Organizing among others.
Each of the 30 youth in businesses have employed 2-3 youth who are either TICH trained or not, and as such created additional 60-90 jobs hence increasing decent work and improving livelihoods.
